Barnes: Oakley Harriers: On Saturday last the twelfth Competition for the One Mile Challenge Cup of this dub was successfully decided from headquarters, “The Boiloan Arms, Barnes. Result: J. B. Pinsent, 115 yards start, first; H. F. King, 70, second; H. M. K. Velton, scratch, third. Also ran: C. J. Gabriel, 40 yards start; J. U. Bassett, 69; T. H. Lapworth, 80; A. Scudamore, 80; W. Stevens, 80; G. F. Keys, 105; J. W. 135; B. Larner, 145; H. Gilbay, 185; F. J. Gunton, 195. The limit man led till half distance, shortly after which point Pinsent went in front, and retaining the lead till the end won a good race by 10 yards, 5 between second and third. Time,5 mins. 10 secs: Judges, Messrs C. J. A. Game, and J. Shallard; timekeeper, Mr. H. J. Smithson; handicapper, Mr. R. K. Keys.
