Oakley Harriers’ Five Miles Members Handicap: The last cross-country race of the season was decided Saturday from headquarters, Boileau Arms. Barnes. Details G. A. Fowles, 1 min. 55 sec. start (nett time, 30 min. 17 sec.), first; C. Harrod, 3 min. 13 sec. (nett time, 31 min. 40 sec.), second; C. J. Gabriel, 2 min. 15 sec. (nett time, 30 min. 46 sec.), third. Also ran: —A. Fowles. J. E. George. T. H. Lapworth, C. J. Winter, J. Pinsent, H. J. Smithson, J. J. M. Bassett, G. F. Keys (who secured the novice prize). W. Stevens, F. G. Smithson, and W. H. Cherry. After the usual “tub,” an excellent repast was provided by host Blade, to which ample justice was done. The cloth being cleared, chairman T. W. Bennett gave the order for harmony, and then one of the best smoking concerts ever held under the banner of the Oakley kennel was celebrated.
