The Coming Carnival: A meeting of the Carnival Committee presided over by Mr. Jas. Chapple was held on Thursday evening, at the Courtenay Street Hall, for the purpose of affording Young Newton an opportunity of inspecting and selecting costumes, and of giving in the names for “characters” in the procession. There was a very good attendance, including Messrs. S. E. Endacott, W. Colwill, R. D. Manuel, Hon. Sec., W. Clarke, R. Dawe, T. Haydon, Jos. Murrin, J. Mills, L. Stidworthy. J. Pinsent, D. Vile, J.
