Stoke-in-Teignhead: A “farewell” concert was given at Stoke-in-Teignhead on Wednesday evening, September 8th, by a party of lady and gentlemen amateurs, who for the past two year have done much for proving pleasant entertainment for winter evenings and by the proceeds of which the local reading room had considerably benefited. Those taking part on this occasion were Mrs. Stevenson and Mrs. Soper, the Misses Glendenning, Bond, Cold, Paramore, Morris, Pinsent, Webber and Messrs. Bond, Soper, R. Stevenson and Wilson, whose combined efforts made this concert one of the best of the series.
