Mr. Pinsent appeared for the creditors and Mr. John Price for the bankrupt. The official Receiver (Mr. Luke J. Sharp) reported that the bankrupt had executed a settlement on his wife a few days before the receiving order was made, and he asked for an adjournment to take legal advice as to its validity. Mr. Price said that the bankrupt was married a few days before the bankruptcy, and the settlement was perfectly legal. Mr. Pinsent said that the settlement was affected after the calls had been made in respect of which the petition was filed. The examination was adjourned. …
