Industrial Show at the Victoria Rooms: The seventh annual exhibition promoted by the Redland and Kingsdown Workmen’s Flower Show and Home Encouragement Society was opened yesterday, at the Victoria-rooms, and on the whole it was fully equal to any of the series. The Rev. Urijah R. Thomas continues his services as president, with Mrs. Joseph H. Perry as an energetic hon. secretary and treasurer, the committee consisting of Dr. C. Elliott, Rev. W. C. Prideaux, Messrs. Joseph Bartlett and J. T. Broad, Mrs. W. B. Doherty, Mrs. T. F. C. May, and Miss Taylor. The stewards were Messrs. Butler, Hatts, Howe, Pinsent, Purchase, Scriven, and Whitefield. The competitions were open to all members of the society, the entrance fee being only 2d; comprising bona fide workingmen (labourers or mechanics, not master men) and women, living at Redlands, Durdham-Down and Kingsdown.
