Newton Abbot: The first exhibition in connection with the Newton Abbot Fat Stock Show was held at the Market yesterday, but the meteorological condition was the reverse from favourable, rain pouring the greater portion of the day. The entries on the whole were very satisfactory, especially so in the sheep classes, which produced keen competition. … The stewards were as follows: Bullocks, W. Discombe, R. Foale, A.C. Hall; sheep, H. Pinsent, J. French, roots and apples, C. Barber, T.
