Newton Fat Stock: A Promising Start: A well-attended and most successful meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon, at the Town Hall, to consider the advisability of holding an annual show of fat stock, at or about Christmas. Mr. J. W. Rowell, J.P. (Chairman of the Urban District Council), presided, and he was supported by Mr. Pinsent (Chairman of the Highweek Parish Council), and the following members of the Urban Council … (continues) … The Chairman said that the meeting had been called in pursuance of a requisition very largely signed, with a view to establish a fat cattle show at Christmas, the requisition was addressed to himself, as Chairman, of the Urban Council, and Mr. Pinsent, as the Chairman of the Highweek Parish Council.
