At Totnes, on Thursday, the town team defeated Mr. J. B. Maye’s XI in a cricket match by an innings and 11 runs. The winners made 134, out of which A. Godfrey compiled 35, H. Tucker 21, S. Anthony 17, J. Lowcock 13, R. R. Ellis 10, and A. Drennan (not out) 11. In their innings the visitors were all out for 42, the highest score by any player being 6. In the second innings they made 81, W. Gibson contributing 20, A. H. Jacob 16, R. Pinsent 14 and A Huxham 11.
