Rabbit Coursing: There was a fairly large attendance on the Belgrave Road Ground, yesterday afternoon to witness what turned out to be excellent rabbit coursing. The conditions were that the promoters added £5 to a sweepstake of 2s each for terriers 17 inches and under, to course the best of three heats and five in the final. The first round resulted as follows: Adam’s Lady, 16 in beat Morbey’s Boss, 16, two courses to one; Pincent’s Jack 15, beat Neal’s Lil, 15 ½, two to one; Pincent’s Poll, 16, beat Albrighton’s Lady Lofthouse, 15 ½, two to none; Morbey’s Boss, 16, beat Wood’s Liz, 15 1/2 , two to none; Pincent’s Poll, beat Albrightons’s Lady Lofthouse, 15 ½, two to none; Dick’s Dais, 15, beat Wood’s Prince, 13 ½, twp to one; Pincent’s Jack, 15, beat Neal’s Jerry, 16, two to one; Wood’s Little Bob, 13 ½, beat Howell’s Jock; 14 ½, two to one; Adam’s Lady, a bye. Second round: Little Bob beat Lady two to one; Jack beat Boss (one drawn) two to one; Little Bob beat Poll, two to none. Jack beat Lady two to none; Liz beat Poll, two to none, Little Bob, and Jack, who each had two shares were drawn together in each heat in the third round, Liz having a bye and the first named, a very smart dog, showed Jack no quarter, and won both courses in fine style. Little Bob was thus left to contest the final with a stable companion in Liz. Although both ran in the name of Mr. Wood, the ownership was not identical. However, the respective owners agreed to divide the “spoils.” And leave the public to satisfy themselves as to which of the pair was best.
