Highweek Sanitary Committee: The monthly meeting of this committee was held at the Infants’ Schoolroom on Monday evening, when the members present were Mr. W. S. Pinsent (in the chairman), Capt. Kitson, … etc … A Parish Water Cart: The Rural District Council wrote sanctioning the proposal of the committee to purchase a water cart for the parish at a cost not exceeding £30. Mr. Vicary: I understood that there was a chance of purchasing the Bovey water cart: Mr. A. B.  Segar: I thought it was in pawn. (Laughter): The Sanitary Inspector: The Bovey cart was purchased by subscription, and the subscribers hope to get it out before long. The cost of watering would be 3s. a day; or 4s. 6d. for a second watering. On the motion of Mr. Vicary, seconded by Mr. Weatherdon, was decided to purchase a two-wheel water cart, to hold 250 gallons, at a cost not exceeding £30 and Messrs, W. S. Pinsent, C. G. Vicary, J. Rogers, C. Adams, T. G. Weatherdon, and A. B. Segar were appointed a sub-committee to purchase the cart and Invite tenders for horse hire.
