The annual meeting of the Newton Football Club was held on Tuesday evening the Bradley Hotel. Mr. H. Knight took the chair. There was a fair attendance. The accounts showed an adverse balance of £13 11s 3d, which was due to the expense of enclosing the ground. Mr. H. Knight was elected President. All the Vice-Presidents were re-elected, and the Rev. C. H. Wreford the Rev. C. W. C. Bowkler, Dr. Ley, Dr. Hunt, Mr. H. E. Robyns, Mr. Lock, and Mr. H. G. C Bishop were added to the list. Mr. V. S. Pictor was elected captain, and Mr. W. H. Pinsent sub-captain. The Hon. Treasurer (Mr. J. Taverner) the Hon. Secretary (Mr. H. Rodders), and Auditors (Messrs. T. Martin and H. T. Parker) were re-elected.
