Saturday there was a record attendance at Stover. The principal item of interest was the hockey match between Newton and Dartmouth. Newton had their full strength and won by six goals to one. Mr. C. B. Kay, who played brilliantly, scored five goals and Mr. Pollard one. Mr. Strickland scored Dartmouth’s goal. Mr. C. W. Crowdy also played finely for Newton and Messrs. Wilson, Strickland, and Hesse were conspicuous for Dartmouth. Mr. Harold St. Maur and his house party were interested spectators. Mr. C. L. Whittell proved an efficient referee. Several photographs were taken during the match. The teams were Newton — C. B. Kay (captain), Crowdy, Webb, Pearse, Pinsent, Kirby, Carlyle, Pollard, and Roberts. Dartmouth – W. S. S. Wilson (captain), Pike, Hesse, Gribble, Clarke, Longmore, Simpson, Alexander, and Strickland.
