Newton v. Paignton: Cold, damp weather prevailed on Saturday when these teams met for the return match on the Teign Marshes. The game was not of an attractive character. Almost throughout play was confined to the forwards, who would not allow the outside men enough work to keep themselves warm. Towards the close, Newton got the ball out in the open. Boyle scored a fine try from passing by Donaldson and white. Formby failed at the place, Newton willing by a trill to nil. Teams: Newton: W. H. Pinsent, back; W. S. Boyle, V. S. Pictor, I.
