Variety entertainment at Coombe: A highly successful Concert was given at the Coombe Schoolroom on Friday last by the Newton Variety Company. Unfortunately, many had to be turned away from the doors owing to the smallness of the room. Messrs. C. B. Kay and A. W. Dixon the two well known comics were in their best form… programme included … Mr. W. H. Pinsent whose whistling is so successful, obliged with the “Whistling Coon,” “Little Yaller Gal,” and “The Cat came Back.”
