Recognition Service at Bovey Tracey: In connection with the induction of the Rev. M. L. Gooby, as pastor of the Congregational Church, Bovey Tracey, a recognition service and public tea were held at the Temperance Hall on Monday evening. The tea, which was well attended, was served by Mesdames Sercombe, Rowe, Pinsent, Gooby, J. Mountford, W. Heath, and Bovey in a very creditable manner. The service which followed proved a great success, amongst those who took part being the Revs. J. Sellicks, (Newton), W. R. John (Chudleigh), T. N. Oliphant, and J. Pearse, (Bovey Tracey): A selection of hymns and anthems was admirably rendered by the choir under the direction of Miss Bovey.
