Birmingham University: The annual meeting of the Court of Governors of Birmingham University was held on Monday in the absence through illness of the Chancellor (Mr. Chamberlain), Alderman Beale, the vice-chancellor presided. The following were appointed to fill vacancies caused by death among the life members … The following were appointed members of the Council to fill vacancies caused by the expiration of Mr. M. H. Lakin’s term of office, the resignation of Messrs. L. W. Hodgson and R. Threlfall, and the retirement under the rules of the charter of Messrs. R. T. Martineau, H. C. Pinsent; Dr. Edwin Rickards, Mr. Hume C. Pinsent, Dr. Edwin Richards, Mr. W. W. Butler, the Rev. Charles Elsee, Mrs. Rachel Anna King and Mr. Kenneth Alan Macaulay.
