Coles Hill Chronicle: Saturday 11th March 1905

The Late Mr. Thomas Ryland: In the presence of a large assembly, representative of the public and philanthropic life of Birmingham and the district, as well as of the agricultural interest in the Midlands, the funeral of Mr. Thomas Ryland, of the Redlands, Erdington, took place on Saturday afternoon, at Erdington Parish Church. The funeral service was impressively read by the Rev. Canon W. Flory (Leamington), son-in-law of the deceased, assisted by the Rev. E. A. S. Gell (formerly of Aston) and the Rev. F. S. Swindell (Vicar of Erdington). The chief mourners were Mr. Walter P. Ryland, Mr. Henry P. Ryland, and Mr. Sydney P. Ryland (sons). Mr. Roffey and Mr. R. A. Pinsent (sons-in-law) Mr. T. P. Ryland, Mr. F. Ryland, Mr. W. Ryland, with Dr. Malins and Dr. Clarke (who attended the deceased gentleman in his last illness). Mr. Howard P. Ryland, of Moxhill Park (another son of the deceased) is in Palestine. The assembly included many representative men. … (continues) …
