Death of Mr. J. W. Mitchell: Hampshire has lost one of its prominent and successful agriculturalists in the death of Mr. J. W. Mitchell, which occurred at Norton Form, on Saturday. The deceased was 63 years of age and had been for many years resident at Lode Farm, Kingsley, for which parish he was the representative on the Alton Board of Guardians and Rural District Council. About three years ago he retired to Norton Farm. Mr. Mitchell was for many years an esteemed member of the North-East Hants Agricultural Association, and particularly known as a stock prize-winner. He was regarded with much respect by neighbouring farmers as an example of a good English agriculturist. The funeral took place at Selborne on Tuesday, amid many signs of sympathy for the family, and respect for the departed.
