Victoria & Albert Hotel Co. Limited: Annual Meeting: 10 per cent Dividend: The New Wing: The 32nd annual general meeting of the shareholders of the Victoria and Albert Hotel Company, Limited, was held at the Hotel on Monday. The Chairman of Directors (Mr. J. J. E. Slade, J.P., C.A.) presided: there were also present, Dr. Reginald Pollard and Councillor F. J. Crocker (directors); Mr. H. Keslake, Mr. J. S. Carter, Mr. W. Ball, J.P., Mr. J. Salter, Mr. J. Pinsent (Paignton) and Mr. C. Rivers (Secretary). A letter was read from Mr. W. Eliot Thomas expressing regret at his inability to be present. The annual report was as follows: … (includes review of finances and decision to add a new wing) … Mr. Pinsent wished to know the object of erecting the new wing. Was it because there was not sufficient accommodation at the Hotel? The Chairman replied that that was the case. The manager had experienced an immense amount of trouble during the past three or four years in accommodating people in the dining room. He had an overflow dining room, but that was not sufficient. … (further discussion) …
