Totnes Carnival: Football Club Score a big Success: On Thursday Totnes held carnival – or at any rate, in the evening it seemed that all Totnes were, in some way or other participating in the effort to make the Football Carnival a big success. Of course the bulk of the townspeople acted in the capacity of spectators – and it is hoped, contributors to the funds  – but the fact remains that the event was a holiday evening, everything being favourable – except perhaps, the weather … (long description including that of the procession which included) … Mr. R. Pinsent as a clown mounted on a donkey, made free use of his inflated bladder, he being accompanied by Mr. G. E. Windeatt …
