County Police: Saturday: Before Mr. H. M. Skrine (in the chair), and Messrs. W. Pole and C. Price-Davis: … William Pinsent of 1, Lorne Road, Twerton, baker, was summoned for selling bread from a hand cart by his servants without being provided with scales and weights on the 20th of July. The case was brought by P. C. Swatridge. The defendant admitted the offence and said the scales had gone to be mended by the order of Mr. Bellamy. The Bench said they would deal leniently with the case and imposed a fine of 5s to cover costs.
