The Promotion of a “Pool” Company: Christopher Norris Baker, 32 Bedford Square, London, and others, suing as a committee, sought to recover from the Components Tube Company, Bournville, £15, their proportion of preliminary expenses and outgoings incurred in trying to promote a company entitled the Cycle Tube Agency Company. Mr. Parfitt (instructed by Messrs. Pinsent and Co.) appeared for the plaintiffs; and Mr. Vachell (instructed by Messrs. Forsyth Bettinson and Harris) for the defendants. During the cycle boom a large number of the Midland tube manufacturers considered the advisability of forming a “pool” having for its object the regulation of prices in the tube trade. …  …
