Torquay Times, and South Devon Advertiser: Friday 8th June 1900

Cricket: …Although Upton won against Bovey on Saturday, they were in poor batting form … Upton started well, but the tail end collapsed. P. S. Narracott scored 11, playing in good style, H. B. Snow batted well for 8, and F. H. Matthews, and H. P. Kelly made 6 apiece. For Bovey, Halton had 3 wickets for 4 runs, Pinsent, 3 for 18, and A. Mountford 2 for 12. The match was uninteresting and Upton ought to have done better, but some excuse may be given to them as they had but a weak time.
