Cricket: Britannia v. Plymouth and Mannamead College: At Dartmouth on Wednesday the ship’s first eleven was beaten by 21 runs after a good match. For the visitors, Maxwell and Dick made a long stand for the fifth wicket. The former hit four 4’s and five 3’s, and the latter six 4’s and three 3’s. At one time by good batting by Cadets Harris, Gibbs and Boissier, it looked as if the ship would save the game, but a few minutes before time they were beaten by the good bowling of Sansom and Brook: Scores: Plymouth and Mannamead College: 169 all out (H. C. Pinsent b Boissier, 0): H.M.S. Britannia: 148 all out.
