Talaton: The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at the parish churchyard amid many manifestations of sympathy, of Mr. Edward Woodley, of Stevens Cottage, Talaton, who died on Monday after a very brief illness … There were many floral tributes and, in addition to the one from the widow and children, was a very beautiful wreath from his employer, to which a card was attached with the following words: “From Mr. and Mrs. J. Pynsent Mathew, with much regret, and in remembrance of 36 years’ faithful service” …
