British Workers’ League: Local Members Extend a Welcome to Conference Delegates: Mr. J. F. Green and the Coalition Agreement: Last night a very interesting gathering took place at Winn’s Oriental Café, Leicester, the occasion being a social evening arranged by the members of the local branch of the Democratic and Labour party (British Workers’ League), with the object of extending a cordial welcome to the delegates of the League, who have assembled from all parts of the kingdom for today’s conferment. There was a large attendance, over which Mr. C. C. Brierley, Chairman of the branch presided. … … (political overview) … …  Mr. Shaw and other speakers followed. An excellent programme of vocal and instrumental music followed, including songs by Mrs. Warden, Madame Ada White, humorous items by Mr. J. Goddard, recitations by Miss Pincent, pianoforte selections by Mr. J. Lowe and violin solos by Master Rawson. Coffee and other refreshments were served during the interval.
