Rev. John Pinsent Ordained: Impressive Service at St. Paul’s Bedford: A service of ordination held at St Paul’s Church. Bedford, Sunday, by the Lord Bishop St. Albans (Dr. Edgar Jacob), the first such service held in Bedford since 1868, when the late Bishop Harold was the ordaining bishop. There was large congregation, and the order of service, which occupied two hours and a half, was replete with beautiful music, and was characterised by deep solemnity and reverence. Two were ordained priests, and five were made deacons The candidates were Priests: Ernest Godfrey Jaquet, Jesus College, Camb.; B.A., and Ridley Hall (St. Mary, Luton); John Pinsent, A.K.C. (Biggleswade). Deacons: Frederick Edward Compton, St. John’s Hall, Durham, L.Th. (Christ Church. St. Albans); Godfrey Walter Field, Keble College, Oxon, B.A., and Bishops College, Cheshunt (Aldbury); Norman Miller, Queen’s College, Cambridge, B.A. (Berkhamstead School); Geoffrey Wycliffe Russell, Hertford College, Oxon, B. A. and Wells Theological College (Berkhamstead; Arthur Reginald Anderson Watson, Exeter College, Oxon, B.A., and Cuddesdon Theological College (Elstree).
