Hockey: Leicester Y.M.C.A. 2nd XI v. Quorn: At Alyestone, the Y.M.C.A. 2nd entertained Quorn. The home team were heavily handicapped through three of their men turning up late, Quorn in the meantime running two goals through. Quorn continued to press through Y.M.C.A. played a plucky game. Pinsent was very unfortunate in not getting through. At the interval the score stood at 4 – 0 against Y.M.C.A. Upon resuming, the game was more even. Margolira made a very fine run through, and put the ball in the net, but unfortunately another of the home side forwards was pulled up for offside and the goal was disallowed. However, Y.M.C.A. repeated the effort, and this time with more success. This put new vigour into the Y.M.C.A., and in about two minutes Pinsent found the net. Quorn again got on the move, and their centre-forward returned the compliment by putting two through in quick succession. Shortly before time, Merrell scored another goal for the home team.
