Leicester Daily Post: Wednesday 3rd December 1913

Hockey: Y.M.C.A. v. South Nottingham: At Aylestone, on Saturday, the Y.M. had a most enjoyable game, their first for a fortnight. The Y. M. are strengthened forward by the addition of G. Pressy, who played his first game for them, and showed exceptionally good form. Moreover, he is to be congratulated upon scoring the first goal, after about 15 minute’s play. The Y.M were the stronger team, and shortly before half time Pinsent scored the second point. Upon resuming the play was more even, several corners being fought by both sides. South Nottingham, however, were a little overanxious, several free’s being given against them for offside. Still, it was a very pleasant game brought to a close without further score. Result: Y.M.C.A. two goals; South Nottingham, none.
