Leeds Mercury: Saturday 26th April 1913

Leicester Love Tragedy: An inquest was held Leicester last night, on Harold Pinsent, nineteen, a pattern maker’s apprentice, who, Wednesday night, shot his sweetheart, Ada Smith, fired at, and wounded Mr. Hytch who went the girl’s assistance, and then turned the pistol himself. Letters in Pinsent’s writing showed he contemplated taking his own life and that of the girl. Mr. Hytoh, who was unknown to the parties, is progressing favourably. The jury found Pinsent killed himself, and the evidence was insufficient as to the state of his mind.
