Hockey: Leicester Y.M.C.A. v. Hinckley: Played at Hinckley. The game opened at a tremendous pace, with the home side very aggressive. The pressure was maintained for some little time, the Leicester defenders being hard pressed to keep their lines clear … (continued description of the game) … Two penalty corners were forced but were well saved. Pinsent, the visiting centre half, was badly hurt and had to retire, and Hinckley again resumed the upper hand. They scored twice in quick succession, Warner having no opportunity of saving. Leicester again got away, and with Pinsent resuming (at outside left), succeeded at last in scoring, Pinsent doing the needful to a centre from the right. The visitors had the majority of the game onwards to the end, but could not score again, the final score reading: Hinckley 4 goals, Leicester Y.M.C.A. 1 goal.
