Royal Engineers v Yorkshire Gentlemen: This two days’ match on Chatham Lines resulted in a draw. In the first innings each side scored 295. For the Sappers, B. L. Eddie, knocked up 85 and J. R. Pinsent 55. The principal scorers for the visitors were Sir A. W. White 71, R. C. Constable 69, and T. G. Bardwell 51. The Engineers declared the second innings closed on the fall of the eighth wicket for 191, and the Gentlemen replied with 169 for five. R. S. Rait Kerr made 81 (not out) and Captain H. Baston 71 (not out).
