Hockey: Kent vs. Sussex: On the Worthing Sports Ground yesterday: Kent defeated Sussex by 4 goals to 1. The winners’ combination was better than that of their opponents, and they were smarter in handling the ball. Godrich, Pinsent, and Satterthwaite, who scored one goal each, were responsible for Kent leading by three goals to nil at half-time. A lovely centre from Clarke enabled Pinsent to score. Sussex were seen to better advantage on resumption and, with a little more luck in front of goal, might have made matters level. Moore Radford brought off several smart saves but failed to stop a shot from Elwell. Godrich shot Kent’s fourth goal.
