Prize Day at Downside: Notable Successes in the School and Playing Field: Further Building to be Undertaken: B. H. Pinsent Returns from Cambridge to Receive Gregorian Medal: … Gregorian Medal: B. H. Pinsent … (discussion of event) … GREGORIAN MEDAL: B. H. Pinsent Returns to Take Coveted Honour: At the conclusion of the prize distribution by Father Abbot, the Headmaster said they had to award the Gregorian medal presented by the Old Boys’ Society to the boy who had shown the best accomplishment in work during the year. He had not the slightest hesitation in presenting it to one of the boys who left last summer and gained three distinctions in the higher school. He had obtained special permission from the authorities at Cambridge for him to come and collect the medal. He referred to Basil H. Pinsent (applause). [GRO0085 Devonport]
