Bishop’s Walk Inquiry: Future of Torquay Beauty Spot: An Arbitration Case: Under the Acquisition of Lane (Amend-of Compensation Act, 1919) an arbitration court was held at the Town Hall on Wednesday. The case concerned an agreement made between the Torquay Corporation and Mr. Montague Williams of “Mawan” Livermead, Torquay, in respect of about twelve acres of land adjoining the Bishop’s Walk. … The official arbitrator on Wednesday was Mr. Hugh C. Webster, F.S.I. The case for the Corporation was conducted by the Town Clerk (Mr. H. H. Hield) and Mr. P. Dell, of Teignmouth (representing Mr. Montague Williams. There were present also Sir Theodore Chambers (representing the Ilsham Estate) and Mr. F. W. Pinsent (District Valuer). …
