The Doings of Downings: The Junior football team were away at Humberstone opposing Freeman, Hardy and Willis. They were losing 1 – 0 after 60 minutes of play, when the game had to be abandoned, owing to the wretched weather conditions, but both sides showed pluck in sticking it so long. Pinsent at back, and young Kenney, at centre-half were outstanding for the visitors, who showed a good knowledge of the game, but were unable to score.
