Whist Drive at Winchcombe: The committee of St. Peter’s Lads’ Club organized a whist drive, in aid of their cricket section, and this took place at the Women’s Institute on Monday night. The affair was a great success; there being 25 occupied tables. The prize winners were as follows …
The M.C.’s for whist were the Rev. J. Pinsent and Mr. S. Fisher. Prizes were given by Dr. W. S. Soden, Rev. J. Pinsent, Mr. A. V. W. Smith, Miss Lane, Mr. G. W. Tovey and Mr. R. Agg, and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbey. The committee was Messrs. D. H. Agg, P. Major, S. Fisher, W. J. Turner, L. Holmes, with the Rev. J. Pinsent as principal organizer.
