Hockey: East Sussex trial Game: This trial, the first of its kind, was played on the Grasshoppers’ ground, Filsham Road, St. Leonard’s, on the 9th inst. It was very successful in unearthing one or two excellent players. Moreover, it is hoped that a game of this description will prove instrumental in giving hockey a decided fillip in this part of Sussex … … After the trial it was decided that the team to meet West Sussex on November 16th will be selected from the following: Boyd, Castle, Coles, Gamble, B. Higgins, C. Higgins, Johnson, Lermitt, Lovell, Major Pinsent, Pearce, Reay, Streeter, West, Westropp and Woolley.
