Winchester’s Next Mayor: Councillor Major James Ryland Pinsent, D.S.0., (sic) has been selected as the next Mayor of Winchester. He is under 50. Born at Birmingham. he is the son of Mr. R. A. Pinsent, a former president of the Law Society. In 1915 he married Kathleen, the daughter of Col. E. G. Boyce, R.E. They have two sons. He has been a member of the City Council since 1931, is a member of the College staff, and prominent in the Boy Scout movement. The present Mayor (Councillor A. T. Edmonds) is retiring from the Council.
