Schools and Bird Protection: The Royal Society for the Protection of Wild Birds report that the silver medal, the first award in the Senior Division Essay Competition, open to Public Schools, was won by R. J. F. H. Pinsent, of Kings School, Canterbury, who wrote on the nesting sites of the Raven, Dipper, Brown Owl, Grey Wagtail, Lesser Tern and Herring Gull. Though Kent did not compete in the County Competition for Elementary Schools, several Kent schools obtained awards in the open Class, including Bekesbourne, which obtained an H.C. and C.
