Frederick Henry was the second son of Thomas Pinsent by his wife Lily Gertrude (née Elliott). He was born while the family was living on Luther Street in Nottingham in 1910. He joined the Corporation as a “park attendant” on leaving school and married Doris Hutton, the daughter of a “post man” in 1936. He was an “assistant groundsman” living on Logan Street by the time the War-time Register was compiled in 1939. The couple had two daughters.
Frederick Henry left the Corporation sometime after 1941 (Kelly’s Directory: 1941) and was a “motor mechanic/engineer” during the Second World War. His daughters were married in the late 1950s and early 1960s respectively. Frederick and Doris stayed on in Nottingham. They could be found on Logan Street in Bulwell into the late 1970s after which they then moved to Winscombe Mt. in the Clifton area (British Telephone Directories). Doris died in Nottingham in 1990 “after many years of illness, patiently born” (Nottingham Evening Post: Thursday 29th June 1990). Frederick Henry Pinsent died there in 1999.
