Pride in the Royal Navy: Lord Mottistone’s Fine Record: There was a distinguished company at the annual dinner of the London Hampshire Society held at the Rembrandt Hotel, south Kensington, the Rt. Hon the Lord Horder, K.V.C.O., M.D., presiding in the absence of the President, the Duke of Wellington. Among the guests were Lord Mottistone, Lord Lieutenant of the County, and Lady Mottistone, Sir Arthur R. Holbrook. K.B.E., and Lady Holbrook, the Lord Mayor, and Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth (Councillor and Mrs. F. J. Spickernell), Major J. R. Pinsent, D. S. 0. Mayor of Winchester, and Mrs. Pinsent, Major C. 0. Graham, D. S.0., Mayor of Gosport and Mrs. Graham, Major- General Sir Richard Luce, Mayor of Romsey, and Lady Luce, Sir Spencer Portal, Sir William Dupree, Bart., and Lady Dupree, the Countess of Northbrook, Lady Horder, Sir John Power, Bart. M.P., etc. The Organizing Committee were Mr. W. J. Newman (Chairman), Miss D. Crome. Miss Jean Newman, Mr. W. R. Footing, Mr. F. G. Girdler.The stewards were Miss D. Crome, Miss Lindsay Sherratt, B.A., Miss Jean Newman, Mr. J. A. Pyke, Mr. F. G. Girdler, Mr. T. J. Barker.
