Glass Garden Party: Mrs. Pinsent, president, entertained the members of Glass W.R.I.to a garden party at Edinglassie Lodge, where an enjoyable afternoon was spent. Various competitions were entered into, prizes being given to the winners. After an excellent tea, Captain Pinsent entertained the members to a cinematograph display which was greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Duncan proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Captain and Mrs. Pinsent for their great kindness. The monthly meeting of the W.R.I. took the form of a birthday party — Mrs. Pinsent presiding. The proceedings opened with a selection of Scots music on the piano by Miss J. Thomson, Mrs. Dalgarno, Dufftown, delighted with three songs, accompanied by Miss Macgregor, Dufftown, and Miss C. Aitken also played two pieces on the piano with acceptance. A musical parcel caused great amusement. Mrs. Pinsent, cut the cake, which was made and given to the Institute by Mrs. Anderson, Beldorney, each member receiving a piece. Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Robertson, Miss J. Thomson, and Miss Whyte were hostesses. Votes of thanks were proposed by Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Duncan. An eight-some reel ended the evening’s programme.
