Glass Single Ladies: Mrs. Pinsent, president, presided at Glass W.R.1., when the programme was sustained the single ladies, who chose as their opening item a community song, “I’m owre young to mairry yet.” A helpful demonstration on how to make and change an invalid bed was given by Nurse R. Duncan, Edinglassie. Other items included an amusing recitation by Miss J. Horne, a duet by Miss M. Duncan and Miss J. Thomson, and selections Miss R. Duncan and Miss M. Duncan — all greatly enjoyed. In a guessing competition the winners were: — 1, Mrs. Burgess; 2, Mrs. Fraser and Mrs. McBain (equal). A competition for the best six months’ programme, judged by the Auchindoir Institute, resulted: — 1, Mrs. Duncan, Edinglassie; 2, Miss Brander. The lucky winners in “Relationship” competition given by the Auchindoir Institute, were Mrs. Duncan, Edinglassie, and Mrs. Duncan, Belnaboth. A happy evening closed by singing “Here’s to the Maiden.” Mrs. Pinsent proposed the votes of thanks, and Mrs. Duncan thanked Mrs. Pinsent for presiding. The hostesses were: — Misses Whyte, Brander, R. and M. Duncan, Edinglassie; J. Duncan, Belnaboth; Gauld, Cormack, J. and E. Home, and L. and J. Thomson.
