Uplowman Entertainments: Following the custom of a good many years, Miss Chave again organized entertainments for the benefit of church funds. They were held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The Rector (Rev. E. J. Sandford) presided. On Tuesday they were favoured by a visit from Tiverton Toc H. Orchestra. The performance by the school children of scenes from “Alice in Wonderland,” under the guidance of Mrs. Court Hamilton, were much enjoyed. Parts taken as follows: “Alice,” Vera Wright; “The Hatter,” Arthur Redwood; “The Black Cat,” Archie Richards; “March Hare”, Ernest Pinsent, “Dormouse,” Roy Wright …
